You've decided to purchase a new home.  Congratulations!  This will be an exciting time for you.  But before you jump in the car and drive around looking for your perfect dream home, there are a few steps that you should take first to ensure that your home buying experience is a smooth and pleasant one!

• First, enlist the help of a licensed Realtor® like me. Their knowledge and expertise in Real Estate transactions will be invaluable to you.

• Next, unless you will be paying with cash, you will need to secure financing.  It is a good idea to get a loan in place BEFORE you start looking at homes.  In most cases, it is required that a pre-approval letter from a lender be included with your offer to purchase a home.  A pre-approval letter also allows your Realtor to demonstrate that you are a qualified and capable borrower, which may make your offer more enticing!

• Getting pre-approved will also give you a better idea of what price range to be looking in.  This will help you narrow down your search and save time!
